Starting An IM Successful Business In 365 Days

Day #3

Filed under: Internet Marketing Project — by Apple Spice Girl @ 3:47

Today, I found my product at Clickbank.  It’s a dog training program.  I looked at it and read the sales page and decided to use it.  It was ranked #1 at Clickbank in it’s category.

I also set my goals.  The first one is to make 52 campaigns with it’s own lens in the first year.  It’s kind of ambitious for me, but once I get the first one off and running I should be OK.  I’ll  learn the basics as I go.

I also learned the basics about buying a cheap domain name ($1.99!),  and how to re-direct my affiliate link to my Squidoo lens.  I will get a list of my keywords tomorrow.

I learned how to use two keyword tools, SEObook.com and the Google Adwood research tool.  I also learned about using my best keyword in the URL of my lens.  I need to use ONE keyword in my Squidoo URL and domain name.  One lens per keyword.

I made sure my topic is a relatively obscure one, which I think it is.

I also downloaded two free reports form Affiliate  Niche  Club, which Pot Pie Girl said to do.

I set up a file in my file cabinet with “Project” on it’s tag, and got two new compostition books to take notes in.

I’m satisfied with the work I did today.  I’m now on to Day #4!

Day #2

Filed under: Internet Marketing Project — by Apple Spice Girl @ 3:47

Today I did a lot more research.  All morning I looked at every website that I could find.  I looked at so many sites that my head started to hurt!  There are so-o-o  many scams out there!  I did my due diligence and  narrowed  my search down to three internet marketing programs.  I decided to start with Pot Pie Girl’s one week course.

I recently joined Wealthy Affiliate but I was so overwhelmed by all of the information that I canceled my membership.  (Sorry WA).  It would take me all year (probably longer!) to study and learn all of what they had to offer!  I really wanted to stay since they had such REALLY GREAT stuff, but with the membership fees at $40.00 per month, I just couldn’t afford it since I wouldn’t be making any money to cover those costs for a long time.  But If  I achieve some success with my project,  I’m re-joining.

I also wanted to get into the Foreign Exchange Market (Forex), but with the risks and competition,  I knew I’d lose money in the beginning.  Not to mention it’s expensive!

The Rich Jerk’s website creating model was also interesting, but the reviews were mixed of it’s value and I didn’t want to take a chance.

So WA and Forex Trading can wait for a year after I start my Internet Marketing (IM) business and get it rolling.

I also wanted a business model to start with in which I could express myself.  With the Pot Pie course I can do just that.   I am still a writer by heart.  Ive been writing for Associate Content for years now.  You can see my work at  http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/27840/diane_gray.html.  I use my real name, Diane Gray for my articles ( Apple Spice Girl is just my online nickname that I thought of weeks ago.  It reflects my love of cooking and baking and apple cinnamon spice candles.  And I thought it was pretty cool).   I finally found my model!

So I started my course early this afternoon with  Pot Pie Girl.  I set up my first Squidoo Lens,  (a Squidoo Lens is actually a web page that you can publish online for the world to see.  It’ simple to use and it’s free.)   The only thing on my Lens right now is my profile picture and a content picture.  I will build it up and finish it in the following days.
Dogs are probably the subject that I have the most knowledge about, so I felt comfortable with it.  What I need to do now is to write some content about crate training dogs.  I already have tons of material (books, magazines, courses, articles etc.),  so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I now have to find and affiliate product to promote and put on my Lens.  I think I made some good progress for the 2nd day of my project.

Today I set up this blog (theme,  profile etc).  I also started research on the different ways to start this business.  I’m calling it quits for today!

My 365 Days To A Successful Internet Marketing Project

Filed under: Internet Marketing Project — by Apple Spice Girl @ 3:47

Hello everyone,

I’ve decided that I would start my own IM business and have it succeed and make enough money so I can quit my job!  It is my goal and I’m determined to reach it.  I’ve given myself 365 days, which I think is adequete considering the learning curve on how to do this.  I decided to keep a journal of my new adventure in a blog so others can track my progress also.  I hope this  might help some newbies out there.  Since I am a virgin newbie myself  I think that this project will be interesting.  My successes and failures might amuse experienced marketers!  So-o-o-o, wish me luck!
